The Wensleydale Railway runs diesel services (with some events for steam buffs) between Leeming Bar and Redmire, thanks, chiefly, to volunteers. The route travels through beautiful countryside, calling at Bedale, Finghall and Leyburn. The Wensleydale Railway Association has a vision to link the East Coast Main Line at Northallerton and the Settle to Carlisle Railway at Garsdale.
The Pennine Way, along England's backbone, leaves a firm footprint as it steps into North Yorkshire. Tony Marsden, a Yorkshireman in County Durham, captures the mood in images and words with music composed by Cecil Johnson and performed by the Salon String and Woodwind Ensemble.
