New boards a sign of the tourism times

Two information boards have been unveiled on Church Street to help visitors enjoy the market town of Norton and to find tourist information about Ryedale.

They feature images of the local area, text and maps and a QR graphic that takes smart phone users directly to the website for information on local accommodation, events and attractions.

The signs were created by Norton-based Ten Fathoms, designers of the visitor information boards produced for Kirkbymoorside and at Malton Railway Station.

Craig Nattress, of Ryedale District Council, said: “The new information boards in Norton have been designed to showcase the town's history and improve the visitor experience whilst also highlighting the diversity the wider area has to offer.”
