Conservation activities unveiled

Local folks wanting to learn more a new programme of community and heritage events in Ingleborough are invited to a a meeting next week.

The event at Clapham Village Hall on Tuesday 15 March from 6.30pm will explain the thinking behind the Stories in Stone project developed by the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership and led by the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust.

The trust's Don Gamble said: “The scheme will provide loads of opportunities for people to get involved, learn more about their local area, and help manage and protect it. It will also provide financial support for landowners and groups wanting to restore an aspect of the area’s natural or built heritage. I’d encourage anyone interested to come along to the meeting to find out more.”

The Heritage Lottery-funded scheme will enable people from all backgrounds and of all ages to learn about, enjoy and help manage the stunning limestone landscape around Ingleborough, both above and below ground.
