Get knitted! Vintage patterns inspire art gallery drop-in session

Scarborough Museums Trust staff and keen knitters Julie Baxter and Linda Hewitt have been inspired by the knitwear and vintage patterns in the Scarborough Collections and want others to be, too.

Now the pair are inviting keen and would-be knitters to ‘knit themselves happy’ at Scarborough Art Gallery when they hold an afternoon drop-in session on Sunday 6 March.

The free event is being held on the last day of the first annual National Museums and Wellbeing Week.

Julie and Linda say the event is for knitters of all ages: whether they want to have a chat while knitting their own work, have a go at knitting from a vintage pattern, get advice or start from scratch.

The Scarborough Collections is the name given to all the museum objects acquired by the borough over the years, and now in the trust’s care.
