Tourism team gets 'must visit' message across at tradeshows

A major campaign is about to get under way to spotlight the charms of the Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors.

Visit Ryedale has teamed up with Scarborough Borough Council and the North York Moors National Park ready to descend on key tradeshows over the coming months, starting with Manchester's Destinations Show at Event City.

Ryedale District Council’s visitor economy officer Craig Nattress said: “These exhibitions attract thousands of people from coach operators to individual couples and families who are all looking to plan their holidays in 2016.

"They provide  a valuable platform from which to highlight all the unique selling points and diversity the area has to offer, for the benefit of the many businesses in Ryedale that are impacted by tourism.”

The team will be spotlighting places of beauty and good spots for culture, food and leisure including the area's main events such as the Tour de Yorkshire, Malton Food Lovers Festival, Railway in Wartime Weekend,  Scarborough Armed Forces Day and Whitby Regatta.
