North Yorkshire coast and country in tourism promotion drive

Tourism bosses are reminding folks what the North Yorkshire coast and countryside offer for a great day out or holiday.

Scarborough is just one of several coast and country
destinations that have a lot to offer, say tourism bosses.

Welcome to Yorkshire’s local area office team has hit the road as part of a campaign to promote the coast and countryside.

Team members will be attending several major trade shows in the coming months, kicking off with today's (2 February) Tourism and Events Showcase at the National Coal Mining Museum in Wakefield. The showcase is hosted by the publishers of Group Travel Organiser magazine, with thousands of industry representatives expected, from holiday companies to coach operators.

Welcome to Yorkshire will be spreading the word about numerous events including the summer entertainment line up at Scarborough's Open Air Theatre and Spa, Malton's Food Lovers Festival, the Railway in Wartime Weekend and Whitby Regatta.
