National park team is a top performer

The organisation that looks after 680 square miles of beautiful Dales countryside continues to be a great place to work — and has the award to prove it.

For the 12th year running, the Yorkshire Dales National Park has received the Investors In People award.

Robert Heseltine, the authority’s member champion for corporate management, said: “This award once again shows that, as well as caring for the national park in difficult economic circumstances in this time of austerity, the authority is trying hard to support its staff.

"This really is a great start to the New Year.”

Chief executive David Butterworth said the assessor had been impressed by the way in which the team had shown high performance, drive and purpose in the face of on-going budget cuts.

He added: “This award is, once again, a huge and welcome pat on the back for us in difficult times.

“But we are not complacent – we know there are always areas where we can improve and make the Authority an even better place in which to work.”
