International theatre hit set for Harrogate

International hit show The Animals and Children took the Streets, stops off at Harrogate Theatre next month.

The production — brought by theatrical company 1927 — is set in a dystopian metropolis of inner city paranoia, synchronizing live music, performance and storytelling with stunning films and animation.

The show premiered at Sydney Opera House in 2010 and went on to see three sell-out, critically acclaimed London seasons including two at the National Theatre and two years of touring across the globe. It comes to Harrogate on Wednesday and Thursday 13 and 14 March.

'MIND-BLOWINGLY BEAUTIFUL'
It's been hailed as "a jaw droppingly clever and gloriously subversive parable" by the Guardian and "a mind-blowingly beautiful piece of theatre" by Time Out London

1927 won the Fringe First, Herald Angel, Total Theatre, Arches Brick, Carol Tamber, Peter Brook Empty Space and OFFIE Awards and has been nominated for: two New York Drama Desk Awards; two Melbourne Green Room Awards; two Evening Standard Awards. The team was named as one of The Observer’s ‘bright new things of British Theatre’.
