Free car parking to boost market town shopping

Motorists visiting Hambleton’s market towns can grab some last-minute shopping as parking charges are lifted for ten days over the festive period.

The district council is waiving fees from 22 December to 2 January on its car parks in Northallerton, Bedale, Stokesley and Thirsk.

Although drivers won't need to pay, they must observe the existing short and long stay times to enable the turnover of available spaces to continue.

Charges will be removed from all the council's off street short and long stay car parks from 8am on December 21 until 6pm on January 1.
