Harlow Carr springs a tulip sensation of colour

The team at Harrogate's RHS Garden Harlow Carr says there's a visual feast for visitors who are fond of tulips – there are more than 100 varieties on show.

This year's explosion of colour is being displayed in what the staff say are unique and inspirational ways. They can be seen in large pots, en-masse, along borders and intermingled with other flowers.

Garden fans will find this bank holiday weekend a good time to view the display, with the arrival of the spring craft exhibition from Friday 4 May featuring a selection of local handmade crafts and Sunday's spring plant fair with more than 20 specialist nurseries from around the country selling rare and unusual plants.
