Whitby can expect an influx of teddy boys and girls this summer as a major rock 'n' roll event moves to North Yorkshire.
After two years in Bridlington, the Flipside Rock 'n' Roll weekend is to be staged at the town's Pavilion from 22-23 June,
Event organiser Dianne Patrick said: “We have sold a lot of tickets already and we are hoping for a full house. Our customers travel from all over the country to come to our events and the Whitby Pavilion seems to be proving a great hit. We hope that we have a sell out as it will benefit hoteliers and local businesses.”
The weekend is billed as a colourful and lively 1950's rock 'n' roll dance with live bands the Devon-based Atlantics who play classic rock 'n' roll, swing and rhythm 'n' blues music, the Bobcats who are described as a larger than life rock 'n' roll and rockabilly band and local act Mick Wheeler and the Tritones.
Organisers say they hope it will be an annual event in Whitby.
