Gym'll fix it for residents with with weight-loss exercise programme

City of York Council’s sport and active leisure team is launching a new programme to help residents lose weight through exercise.

The HEAL programme – health, exercise, activity, lifestyle –  activity, will take place at the Energise sports centre in Cornlands Road on Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm and will start on Wednesday 19 October.

The ten-week programme coincides with the centre installing free wi-fi throughout the facility.

IMPROVE FITNESS
The £30 programme is aimed at adults who want to lose weight, feel healthier and improve their fitness through exercise.

Participants will have the opportunity to use the gym, pool and other facilities that the centre offers and will be encouraged to exercise regularly outside of the weekly sessions when the Energise facilities will be available to them free during the ten weeks.

Each week, the two-hour session will feature a workshop covering advice on diet, healthy lifestyles and mental wellbeing.

Places on the course are strictly limited so early booking is advisable.  For further information, or to book a place, contact Katie Ellis on 01904 553377 or email katie.ellis@york.gov.uk
