Through our guest window, we can see ...

Room with a view .. can there be
anything better than waking up
to the views of North Yorkshire?
A great view goes a long way as many bed and breakfast, guest house, holiday cottage and hotel owners will testify. And many of those in North Yorkshire have views awaiting guests that rank among the best in the country.

Some look out onto the squares of quaint market towns, others onto rolling landscapes with a skyline punctuated by bell towers and battlements or coastal panoramas taking in beaches, rock pools and fishing boats.

In this post, we invite owners to tell us what they see from their window and what makes a North Yorkshire view so special.

If you're one of them, let us know in around 50 words what you see in the comment box below.

NOTE: for information regarding disability access at any of the places mentioned in comments or in our reviews, please contact the premises concerned or check their websites.

Through our guest windows we can see spectacular, panoramic views of upper Swaledale (as shown on ITV’s Britain’s Favourite View) featuring drystone walls and barns, wildflower meadows and a host of wildlife. The patchwork of colours created by the ever-changing light patterns is magical and the rainbows are stunning. At night, the stars dazzle in the ink-black sky. Truly, one of the best views in the UK!

If you are you are looking for a short break ‘away from it all’, the Swale View Studio is a great option! Out of the window are views across Swaledale to the River Swale, and to the hills on the other side of the dale. With easy access to from the doorstep into Swaledale you can immerse yourself in the view by walking, cycling, driving or whatever means you fancy! And from only £50 a night it won’t break the bank!

We are lucky our house faces south over the Howardian Hills. One of only two AONB in North Yorkshire. Situated twixt the Abbeys of Ampleforth,Byland and Stanbrook. Our farmland was featured on BBC Countryfile as one of the best views . Don't take my words for it come and see for yourself. Not only do we have the views but you can hear the birds sing,or even take a Cuckavalda Gundog with you to explore the area.

Looking over the battlements of this 14c Peel Tower onto the rolling drumlins of the North Yorkshire Hills and parkland. Imagine the marouding Scots battling over Snear hill as you enjoy the sunshine and distant views knowing the history of this land and Castle have been saved and recorded by Grand Designs. You may have seen the view already!

Here At Scotia House in the centre of Harrogate our front view faces directly onto the entrance of the Harrogate Conference Centre which this week is busy staging the famous Gift Fair, which makes us in easy reach of the spa baths, shops & restaurants.
